HR Dashboard
Overview of the HR Dashboard displaying workforce metrics, attendance rates, leave summaries, and team insights.
The HR Dashboard is your central hub for monitoring the health and status of your workforce. It provides real-time metrics on headcount, attendance patterns, leave utilization, and upcoming schedule information.
Navigation: HR > Dashboard
Dashboard Toolbar
At the top of the dashboard, a date range selector lets you filter all metrics and charts for a specific time period. By default, the dashboard shows data for the current month. You can switch to weekly, quarterly, or custom date ranges depending on your reporting needs.
Workforce Summary (Row 1)
The first row displays four summary cards giving you an immediate snapshot of your workforce:
| Card | Description |
|---|---|
| Total Employees | Total number of active employees across all departments |
| Total Drivers | Number of active drivers currently assigned to the fleet |
| New Joiners | Employees who joined during the selected period |
| Terminations | Employees whose employment ended during the selected period |
Each card shows the current value alongside a percentage change compared to the previous period, making it easy to spot growth or attrition trends.
Attendance Overview (Row 2)
A set of cards summarizing daily and periodic attendance data:
| Card | Description |
|---|---|
| Present Today | Number of employees who have clocked in today |
| Absent Today | Number of employees who did not clock in and have no approved leave |
| On Leave | Number of employees currently on approved leave |
| Attendance Rate | Percentage of expected employees who are present, calculated as (Present / Expected) x 100 |
The attendance rate is a key HR metric. A consistently high attendance rate (above 95%) indicates healthy workforce engagement. If the rate drops below your target, investigate by drilling into the Attendance module for detailed records.
Leave Summary (Row 3)
Three cards showing leave utilization across the organization:
| Card | Description |
|---|---|
| Pending Leave Requests | Number of leave requests awaiting approval -- click to go directly to the Leave Requests page |
| Approved This Month | Total leave days approved during the current month |
| Leave Utilization Rate | Percentage of total allocated leave that has been consumed across all employees |
Attendance Trend (Row 4)
A line chart or bar chart showing attendance patterns over the selected period. This visualization helps you identify:
- Weekly patterns -- For example, lower attendance on certain days of the week
- Seasonal trends -- Periods of higher absenteeism such as school holidays or summer months
- Anomalies -- Sudden drops that may indicate issues worth investigating
Department Breakdown (Row 5)
A table or chart showing workforce distribution and attendance by department:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Department | Name of the department |
| Headcount | Number of active employees in the department |
| Present Today | Employees who clocked in today |
| On Leave | Employees currently on approved leave |
| Attendance Rate | Department-level attendance percentage |
This breakdown helps you compare performance across departments and identify teams that may need additional support or follow-up.
Upcoming Schedule (Row 6)
A preview of today's and tomorrow's shift schedule, showing:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Shift Name | The name of the scheduled shift |
| Time | Start and end time of the shift |
| Assigned Employees | Number of employees assigned to this shift |
| Pending Swaps | Number of unresolved swap requests for this shift |
Pending swap requests require timely attention. If swaps are not approved before the shift starts, the originally assigned employee remains responsible for the shift.
Recent Activity Feed
At the bottom of the dashboard, a chronological feed shows recent HR-related actions:
- Leave requests submitted or approved
- Attendance corrections made
- New employees added
- Schedule changes processed
This feed gives you a quick audit trail of what has happened recently without needing to navigate to individual modules.
Tips
Use the date range selector to compare different periods. For example, compare this month's attendance rate with last month to identify improving or declining trends.
Dashboard data refreshes in real-time as new records are added. If you have just approved a leave request or an employee has clocked in, refresh the page to see the updated metrics.
