Salary Assignment

Assign salary schemas to employees and drivers.

The Salary Assignment page is where you link a configured salary schema to each employee or driver. An employee must have a salary schema assigned before they can be included in any payroll run.

Navigation: Finance > Payroll > Salary Assignment

What You Will See

The main page displays a table of all employees and drivers in your company, along with their currently assigned salary schema (if any).

Table Columns

ColumnDescription
Employee NameFull name of the employee or driver
DepartmentThe department the employee belongs to
Employee TypeStaff, Driver, or other type
Assigned SchemaThe salary schema currently linked to this employee, or "Unassigned"
Effective DateThe date from which the current schema applies
StatusWhether the assignment is active

Assigning a Salary Schema

To assign a salary schema to an employee:

  1. Click on an employee row or use the Assign button next to an unassigned employee.
  2. In the assignment form, select the salary schema from the dropdown. Only active schemas are shown in the list.
  3. Set the effective date -- the date from which this schema should apply.
  4. Click Save to confirm the assignment.

An employee must have a salary schema assigned before they can be included in a payroll run. Employees without an assignment will be skipped during payroll calculation.

Bulk Assignment

You can assign the same salary schema to multiple employees at once:

  1. Select the employees you want to assign using the checkboxes in the table.
  2. Click the Bulk Assign button.
  3. Choose the salary schema from the dropdown.
  4. Set a shared effective date.
  5. Click Save to apply the assignment to all selected employees.

This is particularly useful when onboarding a group of new employees who share the same compensation structure, or when rolling out a new schema to an entire department.

Changing an Assignment

To change an employee's salary schema:

  1. Click on the employee row to open their assignment details.
  2. Select a different salary schema from the dropdown.
  3. Update the effective date if needed.
  4. Click Save.

The new schema will take effect from the next payroll run. Any payroll runs already created for the current period will use the previously assigned schema.

Changing an assignment does not retroactively affect completed or in-progress payroll runs. The new schema applies to future payroll runs only.

Use the filters at the top of the page to narrow down the employee list:

These filters are useful for quickly identifying which employees still need a schema assignment or for reviewing assignments within a specific department.
